Coconut Water During Pregnancy: Hydration Basics

Benefits Of Coconut Water During Pregnancy

Written by

in

Coconut water is not an essential pregnancy drink, and we do not claim that it improves fetal development or prevents pregnancy complications.

Keep water central

ACOG recommends drinking water throughout the day and gives a general target of 8 to 12 cups daily during pregnancy. Your clinician may give different advice based on your health and symptoms.

Consider the whole eating pattern

A drink cannot replace meals, prenatal care or a supplement prescribed for a specific need. Discuss beverage choices with your clinician if you have gestational diabetes, kidney concerns or persistent vomiting.

Before buying

Read our pregnancy beverage checklist for questions to bring to an appointment.
