How Much Coconut Water Is Too Much?

We cannot give a daily coconut-water limit that is appropriate for everyone. A product’s serving size is a reference for reading its label, not a personalized prescription.

Count what you actually drink

Measure your usual glass or check the size of the carton. If you drink several servings, consider the combined carbohydrate, sugar and mineral amounts. Include other drinks and foods in that picture.

Personal restrictions matter

People with kidney disease may need to limit potassium or fluids. The National Kidney Foundation flags coconut water as high in potassium. A clinician or renal dietitian can tell you whether it fits your plan and in what quantity.

Avoid arbitrary targets

Drinking more to reach a supposed detox, skin or weight-loss goal is not a sound reason to increase your intake. You do not need a daily coconut-water habit to follow a balanced eating pattern.
